Commencement of SANY Shuozhou Photovoltaic Full-Industry Project and Shuozhou Energy Vocational and Technical College Project in 2024

On April 15th, the commencement ceremony for the 2024 SANY Shuozhou Photovoltaic Full-Industry Project and Shuozhou Energy Vocational and Technical College Project was held in Pinglu District.

Party Secretary Jiang Siqing announced the start of the projects, with leaders from the city's four leading bodies, including Feng Yunlong, Director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, and Zhang Lixin, Chairman of the Municipal Political Consultative Conference, in attendance. Song Hongbo, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, and Liu Liang, Member of the Municipal Standing Committee and Deputy Mayor, delivered speeches respectively. Dai Qinghua, Director of SANY Group and Chairman of SANY Silicon Energy, and Hu Dacheng, Deputy General Manager of SANY Silicon Energy, attended the commencement ceremony.

Liu Liang noted that since SANY Group settled in Shuozhou in 2023, the city has leveraged its abundant "wind and solar" resources, harnessing the "heat" of projects and services to drive "developmental heat." Focusing on extending, complementing, and strengthening the new energy industry chain, Shuozhou has expedited the implementation of SANY Shuozhou's Phase I monocrystalline silicon project and Phase II ultra-thin monocrystalline silicon wafer project within the shortest timeframe. This has gradually formed a photovoltaic manufacturing industrial chain spanning from monocrystalline silicon to slicing, solar cells, and battery components, accelerating the layout of the new energy industry landscape, forging a new highland for the silicon core industry, igniting a new engine for green development, and efficiently clustering industries to bring robust momentum to transformational development. The commencement of the SANY Shuozhou Photovoltaic Full-Industry Project will undoubtedly make more positive contributions to Shuozhou's revitalization and upgrading of the manufacturing industry, fostering new and high-quality productivity, accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system, and promoting high-quality economic and social development. It is hoped that SANY Group will continue to maintain its "cosmic speed," fully dedicated to creating the "Shuozhou Model," and strive for the early completion, production, and efficiency of the project.

Song Hongbo stated that in recent years, the municipal party committee has attached great importance to giving priority to education, regarding education, science and technology, and talent as the opening move to promote Shuozhou's high-quality economic and social development, as well as the fundamental and strategic support for accelerating the construction of a modern green metropolis in the northern frontier. Shuozhou Energy Vocational and Technical College is the province's first mixed-ownership three-year vocational and technical college in engineering fields, strategically planned and constructed by the municipal party committee. Planning and constructing the college is a concrete action of the municipal party committee to thoroughly implement the "dual carbon" strategy, promote the transformation of the energy industry, and empower new and high-quality productivity through efficient technological innovation. It is also an important exploration of Shuozhou's diversification reform in vocational education. As a project included in Shanxi Province's "14th Five-Year Plan" for the establishment of universities, the completion of the college will propel Shuozhou's higher education into a new era of "one undergraduate and four vocational colleges," inaugurating a new chapter of rejuvenating the city through science and education and strengthening the city through talent, effectively supporting the development of enterprises such as SANY Group and Changgeng Jinjing. It is imperative to adhere to high-standard planning and high-level construction, accelerating project progress while ensuring quality and safety to ensure the project is completed and delivered on schedule.

The total investment for the SANY Shuozhou Photovoltaic Full-Industry Project is 8 billion yuan, primarily encompassing the independent research and development and intelligent manufacturing of the entire photovoltaic industry chain, including monocrystalline silicon pulling, slicing, cells, and modules. The estimated total investment for the Shuozhou Energy Vocational and Technical College Project is 740 million yuan, with a total construction area of 119,900 square meters, divided into two campuses in the north and south. Upon completion of Phase I, it can accommodate 3,000 students.

Prior to the commencement ceremony, the participating leaders visited the construction sites of the SANY Shuozhou Photovoltaic Full-Industry Project and Shuozhou Energy Vocational and Technical College Project to gain firsthand insights into the project planning and construction progress.
