At 18:14 on February 27, 2025, following the command from Deng Junbo, Dean of Sany Silicon's Microgrid Research Institute and the on-site chief commander, to close the load switch, the microgrid project for the African copper mining enterprise successfully achieved grid connection and commenced power generation. This significant moment marked the full-system official operation of Sany Silicon's first overseas photovoltaic-energy storage-diesel microgrid project, highlighting Sany Silicon's outstanding capabilities and efficient execution in the field of microgrid construction.

Since its official signing in August 2024, the project has undergone an intensive preparation and construction phase. In October of the same year, the project team officially entered the site, and in November, full-scale construction commenced. After just a few months of diligent efforts, the project successfully achieved grid connection in February 2025, setting a new benchmark for "Sany Speed" in the microgrid industry.

The microgrid project implemented by Sany Silicon in Africa comprises an 8 MWp photovoltaic system, a 24 MWh energy storage system, and a 3 MW diesel generator. It incorporates industry-leading large-capacity energy storage grid-forming technology and energy management technology. These innovative solutions break away from the traditional model of relying on external power grids or diesel generators for mining operations, ensuring a stable and reliable energy supply while significantly reducing operational costs.

Preliminary estimates indicate that the project can generate over 11 million kWh of electricity annually and reduce carbon emissions by up to 8,200 tons. This holds substantial significance for promoting the green development of local mining industries and facilitating the optimization and upgrading of energy structures.

The implementation of this project represents a crucial initiative by Sany Group to integrate its global, digital, and low-carbon development strategies into the high-quality co-construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. Sany Silicon will continue to uphold the development philosophy of green, low-carbon, and sustainability, actively practicing green, low-carbon, circular, and sustainable production methods overseas.
