On September 27 (local time), with each production unit in the mining area receiving a stable power supply, Sany Silicon Energy's 10MW + 33MWh microgrid project at the Jiahang Mine in Zambia was successfully put into operation! This marks another landmark project successfully commissioned by Sany Silicon Energy in Zambia and represents a further step in the company's efforts to deepen its global green energy layout and empower sustainable development in Africa.

The Jiahang Mine project is equipped with a 10MWp high-efficiency photovoltaic (PV) system and a 33MWh intelligent energy storage battery system. Additionally, diesel power generation is integrated as a reliable backup. By adopting industry-leading high-power energy storage grid-forming technology and an intelligent energy management platform, the project achieves multi-energy coordination and stable control of PV, energy storage, and diesel power generation, thereby establishing a safe, efficient, and green integrated energy system for the mining area that fully meets the power demands of both mining production and living quarters.


After the project is put into operation, relying on the intelligent control system to effectively smooth out fluctuations in PV output, it can provide uninterrupted power supply to critical loads in the mining area around the clock. This significantly reduces reliance on traditional diesel power generation, addressing long-standing issues in the mining area such as unstable power supply, high electricity costs, and poor power quality at their roots. Meanwhile, the operation of the project will substantially reduce carbon emissions and noise pollution in the mining area, improving the local ecological environment and living conditions for employees, and setting a new benchmark for green mine energy construction.


Since the commencement of the project, under the overall coordination and command of Mr. Dai Qinghua, the Chairman, the project team has strictly adhered to the construction philosophy of "scientific planning + systematic design + lean construction," efficiently advancing the project to completion. The team has fully drawn on the successful experiences from previous projects in Zambia, implementing tailored strategies for each site, overcoming multiple technical challenges in a targeted manner, and continuously optimizing integration and construction plans.
